Father's Pride, Mother's Heartbreak:
Carter is saying his first words: "Dadda." Although we thought we had been hearing him say this for a few weeks, its now become one of his favorite sounds--especially when he's hungry.

I'm positively swollen with pride.

He's also sprouted 2 teeth. I'm sure Zane and Sara aren't too far behind because everyone is

We survived a busy week with both the babies' 6 month Dr. visit and a trip to Wister, OK for the Wann Family Reunion (Pictures to follow).

The babies are continuing to do well and are growing at a healthy rate.

Surprisingly, our formerly runt-like Zane has now become the longest and heaviest.

Carter: Height 25 1/2 inches
      Weight 15 lbs. 2 oz.

Zane:   Height 26 1/2 inches
       Weight 18 lbs. 10 oz

Sara:   Height 26 inches
       Weight 15 lbs

The babies turned 6 months this week. We celebrated this occasion by attending the Edmond Mothers of Multiples (EMOMS) Ice Cream Social. This was the first time we've been around so many other multiples. It was an interesting experience.

When a parent of multiples says "Oh how cute," she means "Oh how cute," not "Look at the little freaks."

Zane is crawling, albeit very slowly and with much effort.

Carter's first tooth has broken through his gums. Surprisingly, he has had the least amount of teething-based fussiness.

Sara's ability to use her hands has become quite sophisticated.

We go to the doctor for our 6-month checkup this week.

I've finally figured out what's going on. Every once in a while, I catch the babies making secret signals to each other that PROVE what they're up to. After Sara screams for an hour or so and begins to tire, she gives the double secret triplet signal to Zane so he can take over. Then when he tires, he passes off to Carter. In this fashion, they can keep up the pressure 24 hours a day.

Which is what they did this weekend.

In all fairness, Zane and Sara have been feeling poorly, therefore we've all been feeling poorly. Nothing serious, just enough to make them miserable.

I could use a vacation. Preferably somewhere cold.

Truly though, its an indescribable thing having three babies. But its way too much to process to describe for this forum.

Sara is starting to recognize her name which swells me with sinful pride every time I call her name and she turns toward me with that look of faint recognition which seems to get stronger by the hour. Of course she gives me the same look when I call out "Monkey Girl."

All for now.
