Thursday, Carter and Zane will be visiting a Surgeon for a little trim.... I'll be posting some new pictures this evening. Thursday, March 26 I spent my first full day back at work yesterday and somebody remarked
how calm and alert I seemed. So I will now reveal my secret: Quadruple
Cappuccinos.
The week the babies were born, I invested in a good machine (see picture to the right) which I give credit for my seemingly miraculous ability to withstand the irregular sleep schedule. I realize that this strategy will probably reach a point of diminishing returns soon, but hopefully not before the babies are sleeping more hours at a time. Tuesday, March 24 The Babies had their second outing today--to the eye doctor. Everybody's eyes are fine so far. However, neither the babies nor their Mother escaped the appointment without considerable mental anguish. Carter had a few tiny hemorrhages on his retinas which are related to the anemia he had at birth. The Dr. thinks it unlikely that it is anything to be concerned about but wants to see him back in two weeks to be certain that it does not progress. Click Here for a common sound in our house. We enjoyed absolutely fabulous weather this past weekend which afforded me the opportunity to discover the Secret To Sane Fatherhood--Yardwork. There's always yardwork that needs doing and it's the sole non-baby activity that gets me out of the house which Jill can't get mad at me for. Therefore, Yardwork = Refuge. Not that I would ever feel the need for a break from the babies...really, I don't..No, really, diapers are my life. My newly discovered appreciation for yardwork feels as though I've visited the Oracle and had one of the Great Truths of Life revealed. I think I've had things about life, manhood, my Father's obsession with grass, and other hard to articulate mysteries, revealed. Cheers. |
